On 7 October, ICDP will held its XV Annual Meeting of Commissioners under the leadership of President Judge Navi Pillay. The meeting will coincide with the 10th anniversary of the creation of the International Commission against the Death Penalty. ICDP was constituted on 7 October 2010 as part of the celebrations of World Day against the Death Penalty, as a unique voice of well-known persons (Commissioners) who have long highly-regarded experience in public service, in the crucial movement calling for States to take steps away from the death penalty towards eventual abolition.
Their activities are supported by ICDP’s Support Group of Member States. Our Commissioners and Support Group´s Member-States come from all regions of the world.
On its tenth anniversary, the ICDP, with its 22 Commissioners and crucial support of its Support Group of 23 Member States, would like to renew its commitment in the important struggle towards a world free of the death penalty
