The Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, aiming at the abolition of the death penalty is the only international treaty to abolish the death penalty in all situations. ICDP has agreed to become an official supporter of the campaign led by the World Coalition against the Death Penalty (WCADP) to encourage states to ratify the Protocol.
