The work of ICDP is supported and funded by a geographically diverse group of 23 countries committed to the abolition of the death penalty. This Support Group is composed of 23 Member States: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Mongolia, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Togo, Turkey and United Kingdom.
The Support Group carries out its activities under the coordination of a rotating yearly presidency. Spain holds the current Presidency. The President of the Support Group is held by
