On the occasion of the 7th World Congress against the Death Penalty,the International Commission against the Death Penalty (ICDP), is organising a side event, “How States abolish the death penalty: experiences and lessons learnt”, which will take place on Tuesday, 26 February 2019 at 2 pm at the EGMONT PALACE, Library, in Brussels.
For this event we will have, as speakers, our Commissioners: Judge Navi Pillay, ICDP President and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights; Ruth Dreifuss, ICDP Vice President and former President of the Swiss Confederation; Ts. Elberdorj, former Mongolian President; Professor Ivan Simonovic, former UN Assistant Secretary General, former Minister of Justice from Croatia; Professor Marc Baron Bossuyt, former Head of the Constitutional Court of Belgium and author of the Second Optional Protocol of ICCPR; Hanne Sophie Greve, former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights and Vice President of the Gulating High Court for Western Norway.
