The International Commission against the Death Penalty called for a halt to the planned executions of Daniel Nsofor and Osayinwinde Agbomien in Edo State, Nigeria.
The two inmates were convicted of murder and are on death row in Oko prison, Benin City.
The Governor of Edo State signed the execution warrants even though the two prisoners are party to an appeal against their death sentences and the fact that Nigeria has a moratorium on executions since 2006.
