ICDP warmly welcomes Ms Navi Pillay as its new Commissioner.
Ms Navi Pillay, the former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and a highly respected voice of human rights from Africa, is joining the members of the ICDP in its global fight against the death penalty. She brings a wealth of experience as a well- known lawyer, academic, judge in South Africa and internationally. Commissioner Pillay was very active, during her tenure as High Commissioner for Human Rights, with her numerous calls and interventions for the abolition of capital punishment.
