ICDP delegation headed by Commissioner and former President of Mongolia Tsakhia Elbegdorj accompanied by ICDP Executive Director Asunta Vivo and Director of Policy, Rajiv Narayan visited Zambia on the occasion of the Human Rights Day.
On 10 and 11 December, the delegation held meetings with Vice President Inonge Mutukwa Wina, Minister of Justice Given Lubinda, Chief Justice Irene Chirwa Mambilima and ten Members of Parliament representing the Committees of Legal Affairs and Foreign Policy and Security to discuss issues related to the death penalty in Zambia. Commissioner Elbegdorj was one of the speakers at a well-attended event on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day. He also gave two interviews for the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation.
