The delegates ICDP Commissioner Bossuyt and Lord Purvis from the UK All Party Parliamentary Group visited Uganda on 20-21 April. They met with the Attorney General of Uganda, Hon. William Byaruhanga. They met with Dr Johnson Byabashaija, the Commissioner General of Prisons, and visited the Luzire Prison.
The delegates also met with: The Honourable Medi Kaggwa, Chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission (and Member of the Banjul African Commission on Human and People’s Rights); Dr Livingstone Sewanyana, Executive Director of the Foundation for Human Rights Initiative; Rev. Fr. Dr. Silvester Arinaitwe Rwomukubwe, Executive Secretary of Uganda Joint Christian Council; and Ms Jacqueline Lule and Mr James Mwaura of the Foundation for International Legal Assistance.
