ICDP Participates in international conference in Minsk
The Secretary General of the International Commission against the Death Penalty, Ms Asunta Vivo Cavaller, participated in an international conference titled “Death Penalty: Transcending the Divide” on 10 March 2016, which was organized by the United Nations in Belarus in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and supported by the British Embassy in Belarus. The conference involved international and national experts, decision makers, civil society representatives and international agencies who engaged in a comprehensive exchange of views on issues related to the death penalty. The discussions were timely and relevant as Belarus is the only country in Europe that carries out executions.
