On the 13 October 2020, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of ICDP, a high-level meeting with respected personalities from the Support Group Member States took place virtually on the invitation of the Minister of Foreign European Union and Cooperation of Spain Arancha González Laya. The meeting was also an opportunity to celebrate and commend Kazakhstan for its recent accession to the Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
The meeting was chaired by the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and for Ibero-America and the Caribbean of Spain Cristina Gallach and the President of the Support Group of the ICDP Pablo Ruíz-Jarabo. ICDP President Navi Pillay, Vice-President Ruth Dreifuss, Vice-President Ibrahim Najjar and Commissioner Duvivier participated in the meeting along with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Marina Sereni, the Director of Legal Affairs and Litigation of Togo Ousmane Afo Salifou and the Ambassador at Large for Human Rights of France François Croquette. ICDP Secretariat was present by means of Executive Director Asunta Vivó and Policy Director Rajiv Narayan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Ine Eriksen Søreide, the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal Augusto Santos Silva, the Minister of International Relation and Cooperation of South Africa Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor, the Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs for Switzerland Republic Ignazio Cassis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Argentina Felipe Sola, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic Roberto Álvarez, the Minister for South Asia and the Commonwealth of United Kingdom Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman and the Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Assistance of Germany Bärbel Kofler also participated in the virtual meeting through recorded videos.
