Alizera Molla-Soltani, a 17 year old juvenile, was publicly hanged in public square in Karaj on 21 September. Alizera Molla-Soltani was sentenced to death for killing a popular Iranian athlete in July 2011.
ICDP had issued a statement in this regard before the execution was carried out, urging the competent authorities to comply with International Law, which prohibits the use of the death penalty against persons under 18, and stop the execution of Alizera Molla-Soltani.
