A delegation of the International Commission against the Death Penalty (ICDP or Commission) participated in the 9th World Congress against the Death Penalty, which was held in Paris from 30 June to 2 July 2026, which was organized by the French NGO Ensemble Contre la Peine de Mort and hosted by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France and supported by a host of countries. The ICDP delegation included Vice-President Ruth Dreifuss, former President of the Swiss Confederation, Commissioner Isabelle Lonvis-Rome, current Ambassador for Human Rights of France, former Magistrate and former Ministerfor Gender Equality, Diversity and Equal Opportunities, and Commissioner Hanne Sophie Greve, former Judge of the European Court of Human Rights. The Commissioners were accompanied by Co-Executive Directors Rajiv Narayan and Asunta Vivó Cavaller.
