Members of the International Commission against the Death Penalty issued a statement urging Californian citizens to vote ‘yes’ on Proposition 34 on 6th November 2012. Proposition 34, the SAFE California Act, would replace the death penalty for murder with life imprisonment, and require prisoners to work and pay restitution to a victims’ compensation fund.
