According to a recent report by the state media, Aleh Hyrshkawtsow and Andey Burdyka have been executed in Belarus. They were sentenced to death in May 2010 and, according to several human rights organisations, have been executed without neither of them nor their families being notified in advance on their execution date.
Some months ago, on the occasion of the Forth All Belarus People’s Congress, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that he would revisit the issue of capital punishment in his country.
