The International Commission against the Death Penalty (ICDP) welcomes the adoption of the ninth United Nations General Assembly resolution on a moratorium on the use of the death penalty (UNGA moratorium resolution), which was supported by a record number of 125 countries on 15 December 2022 at the UNGA plenary session. 37 countries voted against the UNGA moratorium resolution while 22 abstained.
