On 7 October, ICDP hold its XV Annual Meeting of Commissioners under the leadership of President Judge Navi Pillay. The Spanish State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and for Ibero-America and the Caribbean Cristina Gallach Figueras gave the opening keynote speech. The meeting coincided with the 10th anniversary of the creation of the International Commission against the Death Penalty.

On its tenth anniversary, the ICDP, with its 22 Commissioners and crucial support of its Support Group of 23 Member States, renewed its commitment in the important struggle towards a world free of the death penalty.
