Newly found evidence on the case of Chiang Kuo-ching suggests that the former Air Force private had been wrongfully executed 15 years ago. The case reopens the debate on the usefulness of the death penalty. In the light of these events, the President of Taiwan Ma Ying-jeou apologized to the mother of then 21-year-old Chiang Kuo-ching.
